Friend,
Just over two months ago I traveled to Vietnam where I visited the site where my birth father died during the Vietnam War. It was one of the most profound moments of my life and a sobering reminder of the sacrifice so many have made for our country.
This Memorial Day, we honor that sacrifice by those who have served and those whom we’ve lost in their service. I know that we can never repay the debt of gratitude that we as a nation owe our service members both past and present. But today - on Memorial Day - we have an opportunity to honor them and all they have done.
So join me today, whether it be in thanking a service member, laying flowers at the grave of one who has passed, or attending a memorial service, to show your respect for those who have served and are currently serving our country.
