Today, on Memorial Day, we have an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices our servicemen and women have made throughout history. As a veteran and a proud American, I am grateful for everyone who gave this country the last full measure of devotion, who laid their life on the line for this great nation.
Western Pennsylvania has a long history of military service — we’ve fought our country’s wars when asked to serve. I know that today might be an emotional day for many of you. To all of you who have a relative, a friend, or a neighbor who paid the ultimate price: Thank you. Their service, sacrifice, and memory will never be forgotten.
