Dear John,
Remember and Honor on Memorial Day Weekend
As we gather with friends and family this weekend to kick off the summer months and enjoy barbeques and cookouts, it's important to remember what this weekend is all about. On Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country and our freedoms.
We will forever be indebted to them and we will never forget their sacrifice. May god bless their loved ones and the Gold Star families across our country on this Memorial Day Weekend. Happy Memorial Day!
I was honored to welcome veterans of WWII, the Vietnam war, and the Korean War on the Greater Peoria Honor Flight to Washington, DC this week.
We live in the greatest country in the world because of the men and women who fought for our freedom.
Thank you for your service!
Voting for legislation to address the fentanyl crisis
I voted this to pass the HALT Fentanyl Act this week.
The influx of fentanyl into our country is fueling addiction, harming communities, and killing Americans.
This bill supports law enforcement, gives them the tools they need to curb the fentanyl crisis, and will save lives in central and northwestern Illinois.
Visiting with constituents from the 16th District
It was pleasure to meet with Chad Hoefle, Fire Chief for the Stillman Fire Protection District, and other members of the Illinois Fire Chief’s Assoc. I am grateful to all our fire chiefs, fire fighters, and first responders in the 16th District who continue to serve our region.
Thanks to Mike Wiesahan, owner of Lippmann’s Furniture in Peoria, for stopping by during his visit to DC. I appreciate Mike and all the small businesses that continue to generate jobs and economic opportunities in central Illinois.
As always, thanks for subscribing to my newsletter!
Sincerely,
Darin LaHood Member of Congress
