We know it’s a holiday weekend, and politics is probably the last thing you want to think about. But please give us a chance to explain why your donation today is important.
There is no one the NRA would rather defeat than Chris Murphy. He led the fight to break their grip on Washington and pass the first significant gun safety legislation in three decades.
They’re desperate to make him pay a price for that, and now that he’s up for re-election, there’s no doubt they are keeping an eye on our campaign and this seat. If they think Chris has lost support or doesn’t have the resources to compete, they could start spending massive sums of dark money on attack ads.
That’s why one of our biggest strategic imperatives right now is to show that our campaign has significant grassroots support. We don’t want to leave any room for our opponents to think that Chris is vulnerable. Unfortunately, our fundraising started to slow down this month right when Chris said we needed to pick up the pace.
