Nothing will Change Unless We Continue to Stand Up, California!
We are so excited to continue our work at Stand Up California with you!
This Monday May 22nd at 7pm, we will be going over some legislation updates (bills Stand Up CA is tracking) and we will also be hearing from our Guest Speaker Daniel Mercuri! We will also be having a special Q&A session with Daniel.
Daniel is a former congressional candidate of California’s 25th District 2020 Special Election. After months of campaigning and attending forums, debates, radio and speaking engagements, Daniel experienced a level of corporate, union, and super pac favoritism, threats, demonization, and the undermining of legal contributions coming in the form of promising riches. He realized that the allure of political temptation is so elaborate and fomenting that he understands now why representatives eventually turn their backs on the people. But Daniel never gave in, even when he was trolled and threatened. Armed with his understanding of the political arena, he’s more than ready to fight for the survival of his state.
Daniel also comes from a generation of men who have served in the United States Armed Forces, stemming from his grandfather, to his father and his uncle, to his older brother and himself. He enlisted and served active duty between 1998 to 2003, and completed his Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR) time in 2006. He performed his duties as an Aircrew Search and Rescue (SAR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), and a Rescue Swimmer. He dedicated his life to serving his country and was honorably discharged.
Who we are: Stand Up California, launched a couple of years ago as a grassroots project of A Voice for Choice Advocacy that connects activists on a county level to work together. A Voice for Choice Advocacy recently hired a Director to grow our grass roots effort and so we are relaunching Stand Up California to take it to the next level.
Stand Up California helps educate local (school boards, county board of supervisors, city council) and state elected officials (California state assembly members and Senators), by providing activists succinct, well-researched materials and talking points, as well as a centralized site for local activists to network and support one another.
Our goal this year is to grow our grassroots efforts by continuing to connect advocates across our California Counties. Together we will ensure the restoration of our rights, as outlined in the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Bill of Rights and the California Constitution, and the prevention of mandates for government assistance, education or to participate in society.
Please share this email with friends and family who are ready to lead change in California!
Thank you for your advocacy. Together we can make change happen!
