Team – As Chair of the Hate and Bias Prevention Unit, Antonio knows how important it is to build a safer and more compassionate state. That’s why he’s been leading New York’s response to hate crimes in our state.

In fact, Antonio is currently in the process of rolling out 10 regional councils that are tasked with helping identify regional trends and priorities, empowering communities to stand against hate and bias, preventing and responding to hate and bias incidents, and supporting local individuals and communities as they heal from the trauma of hate and discrimination.

These councils will also lead public education and outreach efforts, serve as an early warning detection system in local communities, and mobilize to support areas and communities in which a bias incident has occurred.

Just this week Antonio rolled out 4 of these 10 regional councils and more to come soon. Folks, under Antonio’s leadership, New York is becoming a national leader on hate crime prevention.
