To the service members who died in the line of duty and their loved ones: we will never forget your service and sacrifice.

On Memorial Day and every day, we remember those who gave their lives to protect our freedoms and the ideals of our nation. We are forever grateful to these brave men and women and the loved ones who carry them in their hearts.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much in defense of our great nation, they deserve our support.

Ahead of Memorial Day, a time to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, House Republicans are pushing our country even closer to the brink of financial catastrophe by sending the House of Representatives home without a solution to the debt crisis. 

Default would mean that 7.1 million veterans and their families could lose the benefits they have earned and deserve. This would have devastating effects on veterans' access to vital health care all across our country.

As the daughter of a World War II veteran and Prisoner of War, this is personal to me. We cannot play politics with our veterans and their families.

I will continue working to end the addiction and mental health crisis.

Every life lost to fentanyl overdose is a tragedy — we need to take serious, bipartisan action to address this crisis. But, scheduling fentanyl alone is not enough to end the addiction and mental health crisis. We must do more to address this epidemic and help save lives.

That’s why I introduced bipartisan legislation to take a comprehensive approach to the fentanyl crisis, addressing the supply of illicit drugs and the underlying demand for them. My bill would stop the flow of these dangerous drugs into our communities, ensure law enforcement has the tools to hold illicit distributors accountable, expand access to treatment and recovery resources, and address the underlying demand driving this crisis.

Social Security is not a bargaining chip.

In New Hampshire's Second District, more than 160,000 people rely on Social Security — that number includes nearly 10,000 children, 21,000 disabled workers, and more than 123,000 retirees.

We cannot let them down. 

This week,  I was proud to help announce legislation to defend Social Security for generations to come and ensure our seniors get the benefits they have paid into their entire careers. The Social Security 2100 Act will protect Americans from proposed cuts and expand benefits to keep pace with inflation.

New Hampshire is stronger when we’re connected.

Whether you’re a small business owner expanding your online business or a patient using telehealth services, Granite Staters deserve access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet service. 

Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, $115 million in funding is heading to New Hampshire to help make this a reality.

I will continue working to expand access to broadband, strengthen our economy, and support hardworking families.

This week marked one year since the horrific mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, which took the lives of nineteen children and two teachers. 

On this solemn anniversary, we must resolve to do more than just send thoughts and prayers.

We must get weapons of war out of our communities, ensure universal background checks, ban assault weapons, and institute red flag laws. These are all commonsense actions that are proven to save lives.
