John, I haven’t had a chance to introduce myself - but our plans at Contest Every Race hit Axios last night and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to introduce myself!
Democrats unveil 8-figure blitz for hyperlocal rural races -- Axios
Through Movement Lab’s Contest Every Race program, we’re raising $10,000,000 to truly contest *every* race — and build Democratic strength everywhere we do it.
Before I continue: The fundraising deadline for the first phase of this plan is in one week. Would you consider chipping in $10 or more to help us launch the first tier of this campaign in the key battleground states of 2024?

Over the past two decades, the Democratic Party has lost significant support among voters in rural areas because we just stopped trying. We’ve been paying the price ever since.
From winning about 1,100 rural counties in the 1996 presidential election to just 455 in 2008 and under 200 rural counties in the 2020 presidential election, the scale of this problem just keeps growing.
It’s time for our political strategy and dollars to match that scale.
With this $10,000,000 investment, we plan to make major strides towards contesting every otherwise uncontested Republican incumbent. Whether it’s how cities tackle climate change, what books our kids read in school, or local laws preventing gun violence, local lawmakers have a massive impact on our everyday lives.
By finally challenging the GOP in these races, we’ll meaningfully improve the lives of millions of Americans as we start to win back everything from school boards and city councils to governors’ mansions and Congress. Donate $10 or more right now to help us pull it off and transform the nation. →
