Republicans are threatening a default on our national debt to rip away healthcare and life-saving assistance for vulnerable people. It’s unconscionable.
Their cruelty, callousness, and contempt is the point.
We need a clean debt ceiling increase now. If Republicans had even an ounce of compassion, they’d stop playing with people’s lives and pass a clean debt ceiling increase.
We cannot give in to cynicism and we must continue to fight and put pressure on Republicans to not betray the American people in this way.
