Productivity Or Pajamas? đź’»

The pandemic has come and gone, but I guess the federal government missed the
memo. They’re still handing out a free pass to anyone who wants to work in
their pajamas from the comfort of home.

Hard-working Americans started reporting back to the office a long time ago,
but government employees are still enjoying the perks of telework withlittle to
no oversight
<[link removed]>
.

We wouldn’t want to track productivity when it comes to important tasks like
issuing benefits or processing passport requests, would we? Heck, we still have
people in theFAA
<[link removed]>
“working” from home. That ought to make you feel safe.

This administration thinks they can keep telework going at levels far beyond
pre-pandemic times, but what’s the cost?

The Director of the Office of Personnel Management couldn’t even give us a
straight answer
<[link removed]>
about how many federal employees are teleworking when we spoke with her back
in March.

We need more efficiency and less bureaucracy.

This is why I joined some of my House Republican colleagues to send letters

to 25 Biden administration agencies to get to the bottom of this madness.
There must be solid productivity tracking before this goes any further.

Citizens deserve real value from their federal workers—not the runaround.

From Knoxville to the International Space Station, John Shoffner is making
TN-02 proud.

John recently took off for the International Space Station in Axiom’s latest
space mission
<[link removed]>
. His team is the second privately funded mission to the ISS since the company
conducted its first mission back in 2022.

During their time in the orbiting laboratory, the crew will conduct more than
20 experiments that explore topics like human physiology and physical sciences.

This is John’s first time going to space, but he says it’s fulfilling a dream
he’s had since he was eight years old when he formed a space club with his
friends.

With a dedication to STEM education, John says he’s going to record videos to
show children what it’s like to live in space vs. living on earth.

Just another example of Tennessee folks doing big things!
