John, I’m happy to announce that House Republicans just passed a bill to address the fentanyl epidemic we’re all too familiar with. The HALT Fentanyl Act will permanently place fentanyl and fentanyl-related products in the schedule I class - making it easier for law enforcement to restrict the production and distribution while making penalties tougher on murderous criminals. This is an issue that sadly touches every corner of our country. From 2016-2021, the death rate for fentanyl overdoses nearly quadrupled and it’s killing on average 100,000 Americans per year. To make matters worse, this deadly narcotic is being manufactured in China and enters into our country via the southern border - which has been left wide open to smugglers and criminals. But House Republicans are fighting for the American people and standing up to Joe Biden’s radical left agenda! In just the past few months, we’ve passed a border security package, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, and a Parents’ Bill of Rights. We defunded Biden’s 87,000 new IRS agents and blocked his woke ESG rule. Now, we’ve taken on the Fentanyl epidemic. And we’re fighting back against the destructive policies of the Biden administration that have eroded our freedoms and made us less safe. JOIN HOUSE REPUBLICANS.
