Team - before you sign off for the weekend:
I’ve said this before and I know I’m going to keep saying it throughout my career - I’m not a huge fan of asking people for money. There are so many causes, organizations, and great candidates out there, and look - I’m self-aware enough to know that you just can’t give money every single time you get an email asking you to!
But after two successful campaigns, I’ve learned a lot about why we need to make these asks. Winning an election, no matter how you slice it, takes a lot of resources.
And the things we do to win elections - knocking on doors, running ads online and on TV, building up websites, making phone calls, talking to people out in the community - are meaningful. Bringing people into the electoral process - empowering folks to feel connected to their leaders, to know that they have a real stake in their leaders and our government… it’s a big deal.
So before this email gets too long and you hit that delete button - to help fund that critical voter outreach, will you pitch in $5, $10, or whatever you can to my re-election campaign? [[link removed]]
Like they do every month, my team has set a goal that I’m working to reach. For the last five days of May, as we get ready to head into the final month of the quarter (and inch closer to that big FEC filing deadline at the end of June!), we’re aiming to raise another $2,500 through emails like this one.
So if you can, I’m asking you to be a part of this work.
Please, chip in any amount towards our $2,500 end-of-May email fundraising goal, and help build up a strong and inclusive re-election campaign that will bring new voters into the process. [[link removed]]
Thank you so much for anything you can give. I really appreciate it.
-Sara
