Elle Magazine just did a feature on our tenacious campaign going up against the political status quo. Since high school, the mission of my life has been driven by the idea that “if I can get people out of their bubbles to see how unfair everything is, then they'll see that the system isn't right.”

This life-long vision, and the inspiration of so many women running for office without party support since 2016, pushed me to do the same. Even with an incredible amount of pushback — from people telling me it would be political suicide, to others saying I would be no match against the establishment — I’ve forged ahead and put everything on the line to run a 100% grassroots campaign. Why? Because I want to be part of a movement that’s bringing everyone in my community to participate in our political process and working to restore power back to the people. This movement is real, and we’re building it together.

Since our launch on July 1, this campaign has proved everyone wrong, raising over $550,000 without any corporate PAC money, because together we’ve earned the support and trust of people from across the country–and most importantly, from this community. Our movement continues to grow as we sprint to the Primary Election finish line. And this is just the beginning. Will you consider donating $5 (or more!) to be a part of this winning movement?

John, we're not alone. Across the country, women of color are stepping up to run for office and they are winning. Our movement shows that the political establishment can’t bully the population into electing (or re-electing) candidates who promise nothing but more of the same. Everyday we meet voters excited at the possibility of what people like us can accomplish when we come together and win for our families and our communities, not for a political party.
