JOHN,
In my 2022 re-election campaign, we had to overcome more than $1 million in attacks from outside groups. But that $1 million was a drop in the bucket for interest groups seeking to defeat progressives in Congress.
AIPAC and its super PAC spent $30 million in 2022, mostly to defeat progressives in Democratic primaries.[1] Additionally, AIPAC-aligned groups spent $10 million, just in three Michigan congressional races, including my own.
Our campaign and my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC donated $176,350 in 2022 to elect progressives and to fight back against negative attack ads by outside interest groups.
As progressives seek to increase our power in the pivotal 2024 presidential election, potential candidates need to know that if they have the courage to run and take on the special interest groups, we’ll have their backs. Donate to my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today to expand progressive power in Congress in 2024 and beyond!

JOHN,
During the midterm election, anti Palestinian groups like AIPAC and their affiliated super PAC spent over $30 million, mostly in Democratic primaries.[1] If AIPAC’s focus on primaries seems strange, it shouldn’t.
Progressives have built power in Congress to support a movement that ensures human dignity for Palestinians.
In PA-12, where Rep. Summer Lee won her race to become the first Black woman to represent Pennsylvania in Congress, Summer had to overcome more than $4 million in attack ads and mailers from outside groups.
In MI-9, AIPAC spent nearly the same to unseat Rep. Andy Levin:
Additionally, AIPAC-aligned groups spent over $10 million in just three Michigan congressional districts, including my district, Michigan-12―more than any other interest group, and more than the campaigns in these races even raised.[2]
I founded the Rooted in Community Leadership PAC to elect candidates who will push back against a status quo that puts special interests over the needs of the many. In 2022, we donated $176,350 to help elect candidates in Michigan and across the country, from Illinois to Pennsylvania to North Carolina and beyond.
Progressives don’t have millions of dollars to fight back against negative attack ads. But we have you and thousands of grassroots supporters across the country.
With candidates jumping into the 2024 campaign each week, progressives need to know that if they have the courage to run for office, we’ll have their backs. Donate to my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC today to expand our progressive movement and elect progressives to Congress from across the country.
