Hi John,
Hope you have some fun plans for the long Memorial Day weekend!
These are the updates Team Hogsett has for you this Friday. ⬇️
Mayor Joe's Gun Safety Plan for Indianapolis
Yesterday, Mayor Joe announced a new public safety plan for Indianapolis, focused on reducing gun violence. He proposed measures that would ban the sale of AR-15s and military-grade firearms, raise the minimum age to purchase a gun to from 18 21, and end permitless carry laws in Indianapolis.
In addition, Indianapolis will begin aggressive enforcement of nuisance law against negligent property owners where firearms are regularly discharged, and provide financial support for security services to business owners and neighborhood organizations. Mayor Joe announced a record $20 million for the city's mental health and violence prevention services.
