Matschie's tree kangaroo
Meet Kikori
We're honored to introduce you to Kikori, named after a small
town in Papua New Guinea-the second Matschie's tree
kangaroo born at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Growing in her mom
Arona's pouch, she's nine months old now and has just
begun venturing out into the treetops of Walkabout Australia. Listed
as Endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature
Red List of Threatened Species, every new Matschie's tree
kangaroo joey like Kikori is critical to their global population and
our conservation efforts to save, protect, and care for tree kangaroos
through our Australian Forest Conservation Hub. Drop by and say
g'day to both Kikori and Arona on your next trip to the Safari
Park.
