The Wear Orange movement began in memory of Hadiya Pendleton, a talented young person who was tragically killed just days after performing at President Obama's second inaugural parade. Her friends and loved ones chose to wear orange, the color of safety in hunting, to remember her spirit and demand change. Since then, Wear Orange has grown into a nationwide event spanning three days, including National Gun Violence Awareness Day on the first Friday of June and Wear Orange Weekend. This year, from June 2-4, 2023, we will once again unite for this important cause.
Thank you for your support and for joining us in action to end gun violence in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania. RSVP today. Sincerely, Adam Garber Executive Director CeaseFirePA |
