Dear John,
Earlier this month, the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers Act was fully implemented, expanding critical workplace protections to millions of nursing parents nationwide and making available enforcement provisions to fight violations of the law.
In light of these critical new protections, the AFGE Women’s and Fair Practices Departments have released Understanding Breastfeeding at Work, our updated guide to workplace policies and practices related to breastfeeding and pregnancy.
Check out our updated guide Understanding Breastfeeding at Work.
Ensuring that working parents can successfully breastfeed even after returning to work will lead to better health outcomes for nursing parents and infants and improve economic conditions for those who are nursing and their families. Learn more about breastfeeding at work in Understanding Breastfeeding at Work.
