Families USA is currently accepting applications for its 2023 Health Equity Academy Fellowship! The goal of the fellowship is to cultivate a group of advocates from across the country who are equipped to pursue policy advocacy on health equity at the state, community and/or federal level over a year-long period. In particular, this upcoming Academy will focus on advocacy strategies to advancing health equity in maternal health policy. |
What should I expect if I become a fellow?
Fellows will attend two virtual half-day trainings in July and Hill visits and a DC outing in December. The fellowship that will have 1 hour bi-monthly calls, alternating with a bi-monthly check-in, to maintain relationships, discuss strategies for pursuing policy advocacy on health equity in their own states/communities, and learn and share from one another. The time commitment includes these calls, the virtual half-day trainings in July, and the DC outing, for an estimated 30 hours throughout the year. Stipends will be provided to cover necessary expenses for travel and lodging for activities in DC.
