Happy EMS
Week!
Ross
West View EMSA gave me the opportunity to join them on an
ambulance ride along so I could see firsthand the incredible work that
our EMTs are doing on a daily basis. I can't thank them enough for
their time showing me everything that goes into making the ambulance
and crew ready for whatever the next emergency throws at them and for
their dedication to keeping our community safe.
You can see
more of my ridealong at Video
- Senator Lindsey Williams.
I also had a chance to celebrate EMS Week with
the crew from
Foxwall
EMS, which serves Fox Chapel and Aspinwall. I’m incredibly
thankful all of our hard-working, dedicated EMS workers and volunteers
who are at their best on some of our worst days. This gratitude
can’t be contained to just one week—EMS Week should be
every single week!
One enormous
thing you can do to support EMS crews and help keep them safe? When
you see an ambulance on the side of a road, SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER!
It isn't just the law; it's how we ensure that these crews get to come
home to their families at the end of their shift!

IRS Identity Verification
Letters
We talked to several constituents over
the past month who were concerned about being scammed after receiving
form letters from the IRS asking for identity verification.
Thankfully, all the letters were legitimate, which we confirmed on the
IRS website!
The IRS sends these letters when returns are
flagged for anything unusual by one of their filters. Refund payments
are held until the taxpayer’s identity is verified and by
sending the letter to home addresses, only the taxpayer can confirm
their identity and release the refund. If you receive one of
these IRS form letters you can look up the letter number to verify its
legitimacy and what steps to take next at Identity
and Tax Return Verification Service | Internal Revenue Service
(irs.gov).
Of course, if you have any additional
questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact our office. Call us
at 412-364-0469 (Ross) or 724-224-2131 (Harrison) or email us at
