Hi John,

This week, we rolled out three powerful new endorsements. An impressive batch of leaders from the South Sound and across Washington officially announced their endorsement of our campaign.

In their joint endorsement, State Auditor Pat McCarthy, Olympia Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bateman, and Puyallup Mayor Julie Door all pointed to the deep ties I’ve developed in our community, as well as my past experience as Congressman Denny Heck’s District Director and top staffer in Washington state.

“As Congressman Denny Heck’s District Director, Phil has been an integral part of federal efforts to support South Sound veterans and relieve I-5 congestion, and I know he’ll continue Denny’s outstanding work in the House."
- Auditor Pat McCarthy

Working as Congressman Heck’s District Director, I helped pass the COMMUTE Act, which will ultimately help provide I-5 congestion relief. I also served as part of Congressman Heck’s senior leadership and supported his efforts to convene and drive the SR 167 Completion Coalition.

“Phil has been an incredible resource for the people of Thurston County, and I know we can count on him to continue Congressman Heck’s commitment to fixing our broken healthcare system in Congress.”
- Olympia Mayor Pro Tem Jessica Bateman

In the House, I helped Congressman Heck stand firm against more than 70 attempts to defund and dismantle Obamacare. I deeply believe we must make healthcare more affordable and accessible, which is why I'm committed to expanding upon the Affordable Care Act.

“Phil Gardner grew up in this community, attended Puyallup public schools, and served the public for the entirety of his career. He’s prepared to produce results for the South Sound and I know that we can all count on him.”
- Puyallup Mayor Julie Door

I moved here as a young child when my father started working for the Frank Russell Company while my mother opened up a small after-school learning program for local children. I attended Puyallup public schools and graduated high school in University Place. I know how to make change happen in our community, and I’ve been doing it since I first started volunteering on campaigns as a high school student, driven by my deep commitment to helping the people and world around me.

I’m proud to have been part of Congressman Heck’s leadership team for nearly a decade, and I look forward to building on Denny’s success in the House. With nearly a lifetime of calling the South Sound home, I’m ready to continue serving families across our district -- and I am honored to have the early support of these Washington state leaders.

More soon,
Phil
