What are Self Reliant Groups?

A Self Reliant Group is a group of people that support each other, share knowledge and skills to save money and fund their own projects. Groups collect small amounts of money (it could even be £1 per week) and use it to create things to sell. Some Self Reliant Groups could even have the potential to start their own small business.

Purple Shoots are developing a programme to support churches that would like to start Self Reliant Groups in their communities. Depending on your church’s needs and resources, they can engage with you, your congregation and your local community at different levels. Come along to the online session to learn more about the programme and what support your church could get to set up Self Reliant Groups.
