Rush a rapid-response donation to support our service members — including members of the U.S. Navy — as they respond to disasters like Typhoon Mawar in Guam.*

On Tuesday, Typhoon Mawar, a Category 4 super typhoon, struck the U.S. territory of Guam, bringing heavy rains, 140 mile per hour winds, and a dangerous storm surge that knocked out power for many of the island’s residents.

The U.S. Navy has quickly deployed the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier strike group to assist with recovery efforts and support people impacted by this disaster, including 9,000 U.S. troops stationed on the island. The USO has set a rapid-response goal to raise $50,000 by midnight tonight to help ensure we can continue to be there for troops in emergency situations, and we’re urgently asking for your help:

Please, will you rush a rapid-response donation immediately to support troops around the world, like those affected by the storm and those being deployed to Guam to assist with emergency response efforts?

The USO has a large presence in Guam, and thankfully, we can confirm that our staff and volunteers in the area are safe. As soon as it is possible, they will mobilize to support troops and their families. But everything we do for our troops is made possible by patriotic Americans like you, and we need you with us now more than ever.

Rush a rapid-response donation before midnight to stand with troops in Guam and around the world as they face unimaginable challenges and make immense sacrifices in service of our country.

This is a rapidly developing situation, and we will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available. Thank you for standing with our troops through thick and thin.

*Your contribution will be joined with the contributions of others and used where it is needed most to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country.
