Monthly deadlines, explained.

Hey folks,

If your inbox looks anything like mine, you’ll be hearing from lots of folks about next week’s end-of-month fundraising deadline — and I’ll be frank — we’ll be one of them.

You might be asking yourself: “John, are these deadlines real? Do they actually matter?”

The short answer is yes! I’ll explain more, but if you want to cut to the chase, you can click here to chip in and help us reach our goal.

Okay, here’s how it works, folks: Unlike our quarterly FEC deadlines, we’re not required to report our fundraising totals at the end of the month.

But we do build our budget around monthly fundraising targets — because they help us keep track of our progress and ensure we have the resources we need to help flip the House, protect the White House, and defend our razor-thin Senate majority.

And we’ll be honest: Our fundraising has slowed down a lot since our last FEC deadline.

We get it, folks are getting ready to enjoy the summer. But we don’t get any do-overs or second chances with our monthly goals, and when we fall short, that tells us that we may need to scale back our efforts ahead of a critical election — and we can’t afford to lose momentum when the stakes are this high.

So as we get closer to next week’s end-of-month deadline, will you chip in $10 right now to support our work and help us hit our May fundraising target, folks? We still have some ground to make up, but with this team’s help, I’m sure we can get there!
