John, today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to three trailblazing AANHP alums who are bringing their much-needed voices to the state senate, the mayor’s office, and the prosecutor’s office right now:

Wlnsvey Campos was the youngest woman to serve in the Oregon State House, and she has advanced to become the youngest woman ever elected to the Oregon State Senate! Raised by an immigrant single father, Campos developed a strong sense of advocacy at an early age. Now, she’s fighting for policies that expand access to housing and health care and protect reproductive rights.

Helen Tran is the first AANHPI mayor of San Bernardino and the first Vietnamese-American elected official in the city’s history! A daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Tran holds a firm belief in the power of opportunity. Now, she’s getting to work to revitalize the local economy and create the conditions for vulnerable Californians to thrive.

Leesa Manion is the first woman and the first person of color ever to serve as prosecutor in King County, Washington! She is motivated by her mother’s experience as an immigrant who was pushed from her home and denied access to justice. Manion is committed to addressing the gun violence epidemic and being a strong advocate for victims of assault.

Emerge is empowering AANHPI women of the New American Majority to run for office and win. As children of immigrants, witnesses to injustice, or as members of marginalized communities, Emerge alums are bringing crucial lived experiences to public office and fighting for policies that support health, safety, and opportunity for all.

But we MUST expand our programs to continue this work and get more bold women leaders in office!

Will you donate $5 or more right now to help Emerge recruit, train, and empower more Democratic women in every state?
