Last night, Ron DeSantis announced that he’s officially running for
president on a Twitter live conversation with Elon Musk. If you missed it,
you’re not alone.

The online event had a ton of technical malfunctions and, in the end, his
launch got just 300,000 views. For context, Alexandria got 430,000 views
when she decided on-the-fly to stream a video game on Twitch.

Here’s a quick list of events that got more views than DeSantis’ campaign
launch, according to MSNBC:

While DeSantis’ (failure to) launch might be funny, his policies are not:
He led the effort to ban teaching critical race theory in schools in
Florida, signed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill into law, just signed a truly
draconian and inhumane immigration bill into law, and has attacked
reproductive freedom by implementing an abortion ban after six weeks.

Alexandria is fighting to directly combat Republicans like Ron DeSantis.
She’s not afraid to take on right-wing extremists.
