John —

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. All month long, we’re honoring and celebrating the contributions of the AAPI community to our nation’s history.

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have shaped our nation and enriched our history for the better — and now, we’re leading the way in building a better future for everyone.

The AAPI community is the fastest growing group of voters. We are diverse – in language, in dialect, and in life experiences. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders trace their roots to more than 30 nations and speak more than 100 languages. Our stories are unique, but our community is bound together by our shared hopes and dreams and struggles and triumphs.

As one of the first Korean-American women to ever serve in the House of Representatives, I’m proud to bring representation to the halls of Congress and work with my colleagues on the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus to make sure AAPI voices are heard.

I know firsthand the importance of diverse leadership. Let’s celebrate AAPI Heritage Month by working towards a government that truly represents each and every one of us.

Thanks for everything,

Marilyn
