Hi,
Today, the Supreme Court took a sledgehammer to the Clean Water Act, ruling that it does not apply to the vast amount of wetlands throughout the country.
Once again, the Supreme Court is putting our communities, public health, and local ecosystems in danger. This decision is a giveaway to big polluters and extreme anti-regulatory organizations in their effort to strip the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to protect our health and clean up our waters.
What’s worse, the Court has failed the most vulnerable among us – namely indigenous communities, communities of color, and those most vulnerable to pollution, and facing intensifying climate disasters.
Pennsylvania has more than 400,000 acres of wetlands! We need to demand that Pennsylvania officials act fast to stop big polluters from bulldozing our wetlands and dumping waste into our streams.
We’re calling for state lawmakers to give the agencies that protect our lakes, rivers, and streams the resources they need. This is an all hands on deck moment. Will you join us and give $20.00 right now or whatever you can afford to fund our outreach and lobbying to get this through? Give today. [[link removed]]

There’s a reason why wetlands have been included in the protections made possible by the Clean Water Act – they are a natural workhorse that absorb pollutants before they enter our rivers and streams and reduce flooding, which is especially important as we experience more rain and extreme storms.
The Environmental Protection Agency must act to protect streams, wetlands, and other waterways to the broadest extent permitted by the Court’s decision, as soon as possible. But our state needs to act too. We need expanded protection against big polluters if we’re going to protect our wetlands and 86,000 miles of waterways.
After an expensive special election, our resources are running low. Can you give $20.00 or whatever you can right now to help us pass the kind of bold legislation here in Pennsylvania to protect our waterways? [[link removed]]
Thank you for standing with us as we navigate the impacts of this Supreme Court together.
