Some members of Congress are trying to cut Medicaid and other crucial programs AS WE SPEAK - and we need your help to stop them. Contact your Senators and tell them NO cuts to Medicaid!

Medicaid is a government program that pays for health care access for many people with disabilities. Now, some members of Congress are trying to reduce the amount of money our government spends on Medicaid, or add burdensome “work requirements” that put red tape between Medicaid beneficiaries and the care they need. Cuts to Medicaid will hurt many disabled people, especially those who already have the hardest time getting the care they need!

Here’s how to reach crucial targets and make your voice heard:

Call your Senators and tell them that as a constituent, you want NO cuts to crucial programs like Medicaid!

You can find your Senators here [[link removed]] . You have two Senators and can call them both!

You can use our script:

My name is [your full name] , and I am from [your city] . I am a constituent of [Senator NAME]. I’m calling to ask [Senator NAME] to oppose cuts to crucial programs like Medicaid in debt ceiling negotiations.

Cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other programs will hurt many disabled people, especially those who already have the hardest time getting the care they need! This could also force many people into institutions because they can’t get the help they need to live in their homes. Everyone has a right to live in the community, and that right includes accessing the support we need.

Can I count on the Senator to say NO to complicated work requirements and any cuts to Medicaid in the debt ceiling negotiations?

Is this your first time calling? Check out this guide to making a call to your members of Congress. [[link removed]] Unable to speak on a phone call due to a disability? Check out our Proxy Calling System here [[link removed]] . Want to help someone else make a call? Consider signing up [[link removed]] to be a proxy caller.

There is a lot at risk right now, but we really can make a difference by speaking out. Don’t let them take away our health care without a fight. Make sure they know: Nothing About Us Without Us!
