Hi everyone, Team Healey here!
Earlier this month we talked about why sometimes we want to take a break from the standard “political fundraising” messages so that we have time to keep you in the loop about what Maura, Kim, and Team Healey are up to. Based on our feedback survey a lot of you liked that idea too, so we put together some highlights!
This spring, Maura’s been all over Massachusetts. She and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll visited the Cape to see cutting edge research on climate innovation and coastal resiliency….
Toured small businesses in Fall River…
Headed out to western Massachusetts to make a big announcement in Deerfield…
and stopped by the Boston Marathon…
Maura’s going everywhere!
For Earth Day, she put out a video talking about what the Healey-Driscoll Administration is doing to make sure Massachusetts leads the world on climate.
She also met with President Yoon of the Republic of Korea…
And teamed up with EEA Secretary Rebecca Tepper to stock some trout at Jamaica pond!
The Governor is a big believer in helping support families, so it was exciting to see her sign the first major bill of the administration! Her supplemental budget provided needed funding for shelters, food security, child care, and ensured that kids have access to nutritious food with funding for free school meals across Massachusetts.
When a Texas judge moved to block medication abortion nationally, Maura jumped into action, issuing an executive order to clarify state law and securing enough Mifepristone to supply the state for a year. Under the Healey-Driscoll administration, Massachusetts will continue to lead the country on reproductive freedom.
Massachusetts has a housing crisis, and Maura thinks that we need to take it head-on. Last week the administration announced a $246 million investment in 27 affordable and mixed-income housing projects in 20 communities across our state.
Massachusetts is the best state in the country to live, and the Healey-Driscoll administration is working hard to make sure it’s a state where families can afford to stay.
Finally, in a historic “signal to the rest of the world that Massachusetts is all-in on offshore wind and ready to be the industry’s hub,” the Healey-Driscoll Administration filed a draft request for proposals which will invite submittals for offshore wind generation to procure up to 3,600 MW — 25% of the state’s annual electricity demand.
Thanks for taking the time to read all that! There’s a lot more that Maura’s working on than we can fit into one email, but we hope this update helped a little to keep you in the loop on some of the things Healey-Driscoll Administration is doing to build a stronger Massachusetts.
We’re proud of everything she’s accomplished so far, and Team Healey is going to keep standing with her every step of the way.
Thank you for the support. We’re so glad you’re a part of this.
