Dear John,
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you for the incredible support we’ve received since I last got in touch. So many of you have donated generously.
From a personal point of view, I’m touched that EIA supporters care as deeply as I do about the devastation of Myanmar’s forests.
Your support for our campaign gives me hope that together we can disrupt the illegal trade in teak from Myanmar.
Despite the desperate situation in Myanmar, there are signs of hope. We’ve recently seen the first criminal convictions for the illicit import of Myanmar teak into Europe. This could represent a turning point – proof that EU countries are willing to prosecute traders who deal in conflict timber.
If you have already donated, thank you so much. Your gift is helping us to continue our fight to support Myanmar’s brave forest defenders, expose illicit teak traders and campaign for stronger law enforcement. If you haven’t donated yet, and are able to, there is still time. Every donation puts us closer to putting an end to this illegal practice.

With your support, we can stand with the forest defenders of Myanmar and bring an end to the environmentally disastrous trade in ‘blood timber’ that is fuelling the military regime.
Thank you.
