On Tuesday night, Greens gathered online to watch Trump’s State of the Union Address. Why subject ourselves to that, you may ask? Trump is an irredeemable horror, but that makes it all the more important that we glean his agenda and tactics: how he exploits children, our empathy for veterans and, of course, the nation’s fears.

But it’s just as important to witness where Trump’s agenda matches the Democrats’. And the leadership of both the Democrats and Republicans gave a rapturous standing ovation during the State of the Union to Juan Guaidó, head of the US-backed, far-right, failed coup against the government of Venezuela.

By contrast, Green Party leaders such as National Co-Chair Margaret Flowers were among those who put their bodies on the line to protect the Venezuelan embassy in Washington D.C. from being seized during Guaidó’s coup. They are facing prosecution, this month, for their principled action. What better case can we make for why the Green Party is essential to opposing the bi-partisan war machine? What better reason is there for you to donate today so we can stop US aggression in 2020? The Democrats and Republicans stand arm-in-arm for an empire justified by capitalism and white supremacy. The Green Party stands for ALL People and Planet Over Profits.
