That's why I joined a letter to President Biden urging him to invoke the Constitution’s 14th Amendment to make federal payments on time, rather than acceding to bad-faith attempts to strip Americans of the services they rely on the most.
As Dean of NY's Congressional Delegation, I recently convened a meeting with bipartisan members of the Delegation and Governor Hochul to discuss the State’s response to the end of Title 42 and the asylum seekers arriving in New York City. Together, we're fighting for additional federal funding to allow NY to better respond to this situation, and to extend work authorizations to asylum seekers so they can join the workforce and become active participants in our communities.
