Hi Friend,

Earlier this week, Dame Prue Leith emailed you asking if you could back her call on party leaders for a national debate on assisted dying. Will you sign her letter? [link removed]

Prue’s letter was launched at our reception at the Houses of Parliament.

Thanks to your tireless campaigning, it was a resounding success. Over 100 parliamentarians attended and spoke to people from their constituencies with real experience of assisted dying.

But this was just the start. We need a national debate on assisted dying, as is happening now in Ireland, Jersey, the Isle of Man and France. In Scotland legislation is being prepared. Assisted dying is already legal in 26 jurisdictions throughout the world.

For every day that passes until we reform our law, 17 people will suffer as they die.

Prue has written an open letter to Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer, and Ed Davey calling for a national debate on assisted dying. But it needs thousands of signatures for them to listen.

Friend, will you help us reach 50,000 signatures?
Yes, I'll add my name >> [link removed]
Thank you for all your support. Together, we can change the law.

Dear Friend,

Today in Parliament, I launched my open letter to party leaders calling for a free and fair debate on assisted dying.

Thanks to your support, MPs, Peers and parliamentary candidates from all parties listened as dying people and their loved ones shared their stories with them. They heard first-hand the cruelty of the law as it stands. Together, we are showing MPs this is an issue that's time has come, now is the time to drive that point home to make sure those in power can't forget that.

Now Friend, will you join them?

Will you sign my open letter to Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer, and Ed Davey calling for a debate on assisted dying in the next Parliament?

The current law is failing our dying citizens - it is neither safe nor compassionate. It is time to put it right.

Few issues unite the country with the strength of feeling that there is on assisted dying. People of every age, area, or political stance, overwhelmingly support reforming our current law, which forces people facing a bad death to choose between suffering, suicide and Switzerland. It’s time for our party leaders to take notice.

Today’s event was just the start. With a general election on the horizon, we must ensure that a debate on assisted dying for terminally ill, mentally competent people is on the agenda. You have the power to help make that happen.

Will you take just 30 seconds to sign my open letter asking party leaders to make time for assisted dying?

Yes, I'll add my name >> [link removed]

We mustn’t lose momentum now. Thank you so much for all your support.

P.S. This letter really could make all the difference. We want to make party leaders realise this is an issue that transcends politics, and is about finally bringing compassion into this country for dying people. Add your name to make sure they can’t ignore the issue >> ttps://action.dignityindying.org.uk/page/127582/petition/1?ea.tracking.id=Prue_Letter_Launch_Email
