Juniors: Get ready to get ready part 2
In case you missed it, check out part 1 of our tips for juniors!
Junior year is almost over. Take a few steps over the summer to prepare yourself for bigger steps during senior year.
Visit colleges
Schedule campus tours at two or three colleges or career training programs. This will help you learn about different education environments and decide which style is a good fit.
Outline an essay
Many post-high school education applications require an essay, so take time to think about one and outline it. Get tips and see samples at BigFuture or see the 12th Year Campaign's Junior/Senior Student Workbook.
Take summer classes at a local college
Enrolling in summer courses can help you get ahead, and shows admissions officers that you are serious about and capable of being an academic success at their school.
Learn about financial aid
Washington?s generous state financial aid programs can help pay for many types of education beyond high school, like certificate programs, job training, or college. You can use financial aid at over 67 participating institutions in Washington, and for approved apprenticeships.
