Friend,
Violence in Sudan has escalated dramatically in recent weeks, with civilians’ lives endangered, our staff caught in the crossfire, and our medical facilities looted.
But Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been able to stay and respond to the rapidly evolving needs thanks to the ongoing support of our monthly donors.
Despite facing enormous logistical hurdles, the MSF-supported hospital in El Fasher, North Darfur State, is now the only one that remains operational in the city.

Hi Friend,
At this moment, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is responding to a confluence of crises around the world. We’re providing maternity care in Afghanistan, assisting migrants fleeing violence in Mexico, caring for injured civilians in Sudan, and so much more in over 70 countries worldwide.
When a crisis strikes, we rely on the steady support of Field Partners—our monthly donors—who allow us to quickly take action while maintaining our current projects for communities that need our support.
It’s been a busy couple of months for our teams worldwide, so here’s a quick status update on some of our work:
Since April 15, large parts of Sudan have been gripped by violence, including gunfire, shelling, and airstrikes. In Khartoum, our teams have been able to donate 10 tons of lifesaving medical supplies to Jabra Hospital.
At the Comprehensive Care Center in Mexico City, MSF teams provide the full range of care for people who have experienced trauma along migration routes through the Americas or extreme violence in the countries they fled.
Throughout Afghanistan, MSF teams are responding to a humanitarian crisis fueled by a decimated health care system, poverty, and increased restrictions placed on women. Our teams continue to provide malnutrition treatment, maternity care, and more across seven provinces.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
