Team,

This week, Governor Whitmer signed a red flag law to keep firearms away from people who are at risk of harming themselves or others.

This legislation is the last part of a package of commonsense gun safety solutions that will curb gun violence in our state, but our work is not over.

Several sheriffs across Michigan already claim they won’t enforce the law if they think it’s unconstitutional and over half of Michigan’s 83 counties have already passed resolutions declaring themselves “Second Amendment sanctuaries.”

Our progress toward reducing the threat of gun violence in Michigan is only possible because we came together and elected Michigan Democrats to lead. We need to continue our work to stand with Michigan Democrats and ensure they can continue leading.

Next year’s election seems far off, but Michigan Republicans are already strategizing how they will take back control of the state house. It’s up to us to fight back and defend control.

It’s critical that we build the resources we need to push Michigan Democrats to victory in 2024. If you agree that we need to keep Michigan Democrats in control, make a contribution today to celebrate and ensure we have what it takes to win >>>
