John,
Thank you.
Because of all your support, we ran a bold, visionary campaign for a Mayor’s office that delivers for the people. While we fell short on Election Day, I couldn't be more grateful for and humbled by your encouragement and your generosity.
Thanks to you, hundreds of volunteers poured in hundreds of hours knocking on hundreds of thousands of doors. Thousands of supporters gave what they could when they could and made us a truly grassroots-driven campaign. And when the billionaires attacked us, we stuck to our values and knocked more doors, made more calls, and left it all on the field.
What we built together was unimaginable eight years ago. Back then, I came onto City Council powered by an emerging movement of grassroots organizations coming together to forever change and influence electoral politics in the city.
This campaign was always bigger than an election. It was always about bringing people together around the things that matter most:
A safe city for all. The right to fully funded public schools. Dignity at work. Housing as a human right. And a resilient climate forward city.
Our work is not over.
The crises remain, and there is much to do. I know I’ll see you in that work ahead.
I wouldn’t have come this far without each and every one of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of this campaign.
I’m so humbled by your support, your notes of encouragement, and your passion for a better Philadelphia. I will carry your dedication with me as I continue to work for a more just and equitable city for all of us.
With gratitude,
Helen
