The staff at Dream.Org are getting ready for summer. While we are
finalizing vacation plans and sharing travel tips, we are also moving our
campaigns forward. In other words, balance. Our Justice team’s summer
includes making headway on our legislation to end unfair & racist drug
sentencing laws. Our Green For All team is busy directing resources to
communities on the frontlines of climate change. And our Tech program is
shifting the culture of the tech sector by opening new pathways into the
field. Building the future we are dreaming of needs us at our best. So
take some time to recharge this summer. Then join us! Read below to see
how you can help.

Onward,
Nisha Anand

Crack and powder cocaine are the same drug, but their accompanying
punishments differ drastically. On the one hand, possession of crack could
land you in prison for years, while possessing the same amount of powder
cocaine will result in a significantly lower sentence.  This is the unjust
reality that has disproportionately impacted Black communities that the
EQUAL Act is aiming to rectify. We need your help to finish the fight to
pass the EQUAL Act that we started last year. Please sign our petition to
urge Congress to pass the EQUAL Act and make sentencing equal, as it
should be.

Mayday! Members of Congress are playing with fire by using funds meant to
save the planet as a bargaining chip in the debt ceiling negotiations,
putting our pocketbooks and our planet on the line. The Greenhouse Gas
Reduction Fund (GGRF) is in particular danger of being slashed. GGRF is
worth a whopping  $20 billion in climate investments but could be
leveraged into more than $250 billion over the next 10 years by using
public funds to spur private investment. But all that climate change
fighting cash could go away if some in Congress have their way. Tell
Congress to continue to fund the climate fight. Click the button below to
learn more and take action.
