Hi there --

After our research found that Google is still collecting and retaining sensitive location data for visits to abortion clinics, 10 senators sent a letter this week to Google CEO Sundar Pichai demanding answers.

The letter from Senators Klobuchar, Warren, Hirono, Sanders, and others reads: “We write to express our concern that Google is not upholding its commitment to delete sensitive location data, particularly when it can reveal private health care decisions.”

Our momentum is building to put pressure on Google to change its data collection and retention practices. Thanks to your support on our day of action earlier this month, we’re now getting the attention of our elected officials and the CEO of one of the largest companies on the planet.

Help spread the word about this new letter from key senators to call out Google for failing to protect the privacy of those seeking reproductive care and demand answers from the tech giant:

We’re going to keep fighting until Google stops collecting and retaining location data for the threat it poses to our privacy and safety.

Onwards,

We see the irony of asking you to take action on the same platforms we’re fighting to hold accountable, but they are… well… dominant. We have to reach people where they are in order to level the playing field -- and we’re ready to bring the fight right to their own platforms.
Democracy depends on common truths. Social media giants are eroding our consensus reality and pushing democracy to the brink. Accountable Tech is fighting back by urging social media companies to serve the public good by strengthening the integrity of their platforms and our democracy.
