For all intents and purposes, Donald Trump remains the leader of the Republican Party. So it was a stark reminder of what we're up against, when, during his recent CNN town hall, Trump took the following positions:
-He doubled down on his pledge to pardon insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021
-He urged Congressional Republicans to cause an economic default if Democrats don't agree to harmful cuts
-He indicated that he'd sign a national abortion ban and said "very positive things" are happening in our country because Roe v. Wade was overturned
I'm not about to let MAGA extremism prevail in my district — but I'm going to need your help for a tough race after Republicans came within 7% of beating me last year. It's absolutely alarming that the de-facto Republican Party leader wants to downplay attacks on our democracy, supports playing games with the economic well-being of everyday Americans, and thinks it's "very positive" that states are now passing zero-exception abortion bans.
