Hi Revealer,
The Center for Investigative Reporting’s newest documentary, “Victim/Suspect,” is now available on Netflix ([link removed]) .
“Victim/Suspect” follows CIR reporter Rae de Leon as she uncovers a chilling national pattern – when people report a sexual assault, instead of thoroughly investigating their allegations, police prosecute them for false reporting.
The New York Times called the film a “blood-boiler.” After devoting more than four years to this investigation, we are thrilled to finally share it with you on Netflix.
You might be familiar with Rae’s investigation from listening to her Reveal episode, From Victim to Suspect ([link removed]) , which chronicled a Connecticut woman’s legal battle after she reported being sexually assaulted by her boss and police didn’t believe her. Rae discovered more than a hundred cases that followed this pattern of injustice and impunity, and she highlights several in the film.
If you haven’t already done so, please watch ([link removed]) “Victim/Suspect," listen ([link removed]) to the show, and share our work with a friend.
Thank you for your support.
