This week at CBPP, we focused on health, the federal budget, food assistance, federal taxes, the economy, family income support, and Social Security.
* On health, Jessica Schubel, Hannah Katch, Judith Solomon, and Aviva Aron-Dine answered ([link removed]) frequently asked questions about the Trump Administration’s Medicaid block grant guidance. Sarah Lueck cautioned ([link removed]) that adopting a state-based health insurance marketplace poses risks and challenges. We answered ([link removed]) frequently asked questions on state adoption of the health insurer fee. We updated ([link removed]) our policy brief outlining the Trump Administration’s harmful changes to Medicaid. We also updated ([link removed]) our
timeline tracking the Administration’s efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act.
* On the federal budget, Joel Friedman, Aviva Aron-Dine, Kathleen Romig, Chye-Ching Huang, and Chuck Marr outlined ([link removed]) five things to look for in the President’s 2021 budget. Richard Kogan, David Reich, and Jenifer Beltrán pointed out ([link removed]) that non-defense discretionary programs face tight funding in 2021.
* On food assistance, Javier Balmaceda commented ([link removed]) on how Puerto Rico’s recent earthquake highlights its inadequate access to nutrition assistance. Joseph Llobrera detailed ([link removed]) how policymakers can improve SNAP participants’ child support participation without compromising access to food.
