Hello all, apologies for the double email, but something has been brought to our attention and we need to make a correction:

The Senate did not approve a plan for $5.5 billion in funding for public transportation.

At least $5.5 billion in statewide funding for public transit is needed to sustain transportation agencies for several years until more sustainable funding sources are secured. However, the Senate and Assembly budget committees both proposed only about $2 billion in funding for transit, far from the amount needed to keep Muni running with all its lines intact.

Please help us keep pressure on lawmakers to provide enough funding for transit to survive and thrive! Transit agencies need additional state money to stay afloat and make important improvements to frequency, cleanliness, and safety. To send a letter to lawmakers, click here if you live in Asm.
