UPDATE: Fonk Road Repairs scheduled for May 24 & 25 have been completed in one day

Fonk Road, south of Beaver Lake in Mount Vernon, was to be closed for repair on Wednesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 25. Skagit County Public Works was dredging an existing culvert pipe that runs below the roadway, thus necessitating the temporary closure.

However, Skagit County crews were able to complete the needed repairs in 6 hours and the roadway is now open to traffic. There will be no closure tomorrow - Thursday, May 25th.
