Here are some downright disgusting statistics. The Federal Minimum Wage is $7.25 per hour. Jeff Bezos makes about $8,961,187 per hour.
Put another way: a single human being makes the equivalent to the combined one hour labor of over one million workers. It’s inconceivable. This system MUST be broken down and rebuilt into something that works for everyone. We can’t continue down this path, we see where it’s gotten us so far.
Our campaign is standing up and saying no to this obscene inequity, and thousands of people are joining us, both here in IL-07 and across the country. Every single day I’m out spreading my message to people who have been left out and given no opportunity to get any further in life than to make a few dollars an hour and try to escape the cycle of poverty that’s been set for them.
People here deserve so much more, they are worth so much more; that’s why I’ll never give up on this fight. It’s also why I need you with me every day until March 17. |
