[ [link removed] ]Cruz, You Lose
John, it’s hard to believe it’s only been a year since the
tragic mass shooting perpetrated at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde,
Texas.
A teengage gunman massacred 19 fourth graders and two teachers. One month
later, when Ted Cruz had the opportunity to vote for the Bipartisan Safer
Communities Act, he voted NO.
Think about that for a moment. The third-deadliest school shooting occurs
in his state, in a string of deadly mass shootings that occurred both
before and since, and when the most consequential federal gun safety
legislation in thirty years has the opportunity of passing and saving
lives, Texas’ U.S. Senator Ted Cruz voted NO.
Because he represents the National Rifle Association — not the people of
Texas. One week after the Uvalde shooting, ABC News reported:
“Cruz, in particular, has taken in the most money from pro-gun individuals and
groups of anyone in the current Congress, amassing $442,000 over the course of
his career.”
This is what we’re up against in 2024. So let’s honor the lives lost one
year ago today in Uvalde by taking action to ensure Texas elects a senator
who will take action to save lives — not rake in more campaign
contributions from the gun industry.
We’re humbly asking, John: [ [link removed] ]Add your name to our petition if
you agree Texas’ U.S. Senator MUST take a stand for gun safety — and
refuse to carry water for a gun industry with blood on its hands.
Thanks for joining us in taking action. Together, we can put a stop to
school shootings in Texas and across the country.
