John, we're
rapidly approaching the "X-date" — the day after which the U.S. won't be
able to fulfill its financial obligations.

Yet, instead of passing a clean budget that increases the debt ceiling,
this is what Republicans are up to:

[ [link removed] ]Headline reads 'Marjorie Taylor Greene speends $100K on chapstick worn by
Speaker Kevin McCarthy'

Yup. This isn't a joke.

While Republicans are trying their hardest to take away child care, food
assistance, earned benefits, and education from families, Marjorie Taylor
Greene is spending $100,000 (!!!) on a used chapstick from McCarthy.

It's not just a disgrace. It's a blatant slap in the face to Americans.

Republicans are threatening to crash our economy, but I know we CANNOT
make a deal on the backs of already-struggling Americans. I've called on
President Biden to use the 14th Amendment to raise the debt limit without
Congress, and I won't quiet down.

[ [link removed] ]We will not allow Republicans to tear away the lifelines millions of
people rely on. If you're with me, will you chip in $5 or
more today to ensure I have the resources to stay focused on this
legislative fight?

As I told Jake Tapper on CNN on Sunday, this isn't about politics. It's
about people's lives.

Marjorie Taylor Greene might think it's nothing to spend $100,000 on
chapstick, but when I think about that amount of money, I think about the
hundreds of thousands of dollars in student debt I owe today. And when I
think about the potential impacts of the GOP's plan, it's not theoretical
— it's personal.

Like so many of the working-class folks I represent, I relied on food
assistance from SNAP and health care from Medicaid growing up. But working
families don't matter to Republicans — tax cuts for their filthy rich
friends do.

Republicans are threatening to unleash economic catastrophe all in order
to give their rich donors a handout big enough to buy another yacht. We
won't have it.

[ [link removed] ]If you have my back as I take on McCarthy and GOP white supremacist
super-villains, will you power this movement with a $5
donation? We're so much more powerful when we join together.

Thank you,

Summer
