Almost four years after the passage of New York's landmark Climate Law, it's time to start delivering on the climate law's mandates. It's time for New York State to pass the Climate, Jobs, and Justice Package (CJJP). The CJJP is a legislative roadmap to rapidly decarbonize New York, make our state healthier and more equitable, ensure a just transition for workers, and create an accessible green economy for all.
Join NY Renews, a coalition of over 350 environmental, justice, faith, labor, and community groups, for a rally near you to tell New York's legislative leaders to pass the Climate, Jobs, and Justice Package at event near you!
Demand the NY HEAT Act in Syracuse
Friday, May 26th, 10:30 AM
333 East Washington Street, Syracuse, NY
Join us for a press event outside the State Office Building in Syracuse in support of the NY HEAT Act! We will be joining with Senator Rachel May and CNY region advocates for clean and affordable energy in New York.
The NY HEAT Act (S.2016 Krueger & May/A.4592 Fahy) is critical legislation that will reduce energy costs for New York residents who need it most and support an affordable transition to a clean energy infrastructure system in New York.
The legislative session is not complete without NY HEAT! New Yorkers need cleaner energy and lower bills now, and we are holding Albany accountable. Let’s make as much noise as we can to get it passed this session!

NY is NOT Disposable - Lunchtime Power Hour
Thursday, May 25th, 1PM
Online
The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act would require companies to cut their single-use packaging in half in 12 years and redesign what’s left to make it either reusable, refillable or truly recyclable, as well as ban a dozen toxic chemicals including PFAS, benzene, toluene, phthalates, bisphenols, and heavy metals from being used in packaging.
The bill would also require the companies who create the packaging to pay to collect, sort, and manage their packaging waste instead of taxpayers footing the bill to deal with their waste as they do now. This will provide much-needed funding for your local municipal recycling programs and infrastructure.
Join a Lunchtime Power Hour and take action together by calling and emailing legislators. The Climate Action Now App allows you to automatically email members of the state legislature. Download the app and register for the event at: bit.ly/climateactionnow5-25
