Our 2023 Liberal Nation Convention recap!
Over 4,000 Canadians participated in the 2023 National Convention, bringing together Liberals from coast-to-coast-to-coast to engage in important policy discussions, participate in campaign trainings, and hear from keynote speakers, including Justin Trudeau, Jean Chrétien, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Dr. Katharine Smart, Liz Plank, Farah Alibay, and more.
Liberals also elected Sachit Mehra as LPC’s new President, alongside the other members of the National Board and Commission Executives. Welcome to all the new members!

By-elections are underway!
We’ve just announced our four Team Trudeau candidates for the federal by-elections happening in Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec on June 19.
Anna Gainey (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount), David Hilderley (Oxford), Kerry Smith (Portage–Lisgar), and Ben Carr (Winnipeg South Centre) bring diverse backgrounds and decades of experience that will make them strong representatives for their communities.
In these important by-elections, Canadians have an important choice. While Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party have no serious plan and continue to promote reckless policies that would move our country backward, Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team remain focused on making life more affordable, delivering better public health care, creating middle class jobs, taking strong climate action, and building an economy that works for all Canadians.

Introducing the new Grocery Rebate
Our Liberal legislation to introduce a new Grocery Rebate – first announced in Budget 2023 – received Royal Assent. With up to an extra $467 for a family with two parents and two kids, $234 for single Canadians, and $225 on average for seniors, that means hundreds of dollars will directly go into the pockets of 11 million eligible Canadians.

Unapologetically and Unequivocally Pro-Choice
Women – and women alone – have the right to make decisions about their own bodies.
We are focused on building a fairer, more equitable, and more equal Canada — one where a woman’s right to basic healthcare isn’t up for debate.
Unlike Pierre Poilievre’s Conservatives, we will always stand up for women’s right to choose, and we won’t let these hard-earned rights be put at risk.

Making life more affordable
Since 2015, we’ve helped lift over a million Canadians out of poverty, and we are continuing our work to make life more affordable.
In nearly half of Canadian provinces and territories, families are benefiting from $10-a-day child care – 3 years ahead of schedule! And with fees cut by at least 50% everywhere else, we’ll continue working to deliver affordable child care for families across the country.
